6-23-08. taxidermy.

Setting his face onto chubby hands, peachy cheeks plump and settled on the rim of his pinky fingers. His teeth shine in the slit of an enormous smile, soft brown eyes sparkling with adoration. His ruffled blonde hair standing on end with excitement, this 8 year old boy gazes at a dead toy poodle with utter and absolute delight.
Scraped elbows rest on a rough wooden table, sticky from partially dried blood. Clusters of animal hair float in the humid air. Shimmers of whiskers land around his sky blue Keds, clinging to a heavy duty apron, fastened twice around his waist.
His fingers tingle with quiet anticipation.

I am not fond of this one. A little too campy, I think?
