THE DRY HEART

sometimes at the ocean I hear saturn and her moons screech mineral
gears shave steel licks in curls
buoy cascades a self aware figure looking backward

silly water lapping up sand silly
me pinned stuck to wool and cloth
wet eyed mouth gaped or seized

it's difficult to describe the fear of bumping into a dead fish
that inverted sigh of a rug burn glowing shut
the final humor of the sun
